Welcome to the AIA ABQ Online Forum!

Hola miembros de la AIA. Welcome to the launching of the new AIA Albuquerque Web Site, aiaabq.org

Special thanks to AIA Web Site Committee: Sam Sterling, Mark Baker and Cecilia Portal.

We are excited about our new blog and hope that more of you get involved in an open forum discussing architecture, events and news. This is a virtual opportunity for our community to stay in touch while each of you continues to create great architecture for our community.

In a few weeks we will have the capability to consider purchasing books, DVDs, cds and other architecture related products through Amazon.com. The price will be the same, but a small percentage of the profit goes to AIA ABQ. We ask each of you to consider supporting your local chapter by going through our web site to do these purchases.

Our web site also offers you the ability to now purchase AIA industry standard contracts and documents directly in our web site. This will make your purchase easier and more efficient. In the future we will develop a system that will allow you to purchase lunches, tickets and other AIA program registrations directly on the site with a credit card.

I also want to remind all of you of the upcoming AIA Home Tour on Sunday, April 29. This is sure to be a great tour of architecture designed by Albuquerque architects. Two of this year’s highlights will be a tour of the late, Max Flatow’s house and Mark Rhode’s Concrete and Steel masterpiece.

Mark on your calendar September 7th when Paolo Soleri, the great visionary architect of the Southwest desert, will be lecturing at the Kimo Theatre. This is sure to be a great celebration of art and architecture.

Sincerely,

Ed Fitzgerald
President, AIA Albuquerque
