About the Event
Full day education course covering adobe, hempcrete, rammed earth and their uses as healthier climate resilient building options which are also equitable and sustainable! The materials we build with affect the air quality in and outside the buildings we design. This has an impact on the health of the occupants in the built environment, and our communities. IAQ greatly affects cognitive performance, and the use of natural materials should be considered along with other factors. Designing with materials that are natural and can be locally or regionally sourced here in the Southwest reduces transportation emissions and has the potential to build local economies. Presenters, Francisco Uviña, Eric Haskins, Robin Elkin and Alex Sexsmith will lecture in their area of expertise followed by hands-on mini workshops. The day long course will include breakfast breads, snacks, lunch, and beverages ending with an Earth Day celebratory Aspen seedling for every attendee. (8 HSW) Email director@aiaaabq.org for registration form or you can purchase online! Payment by check is preferred....mail to AIAABQ PO Box 12926 Albuquerque, NM 87195
